This surf shack on the beach in La Jolla has been used by surfers for years. It has been washed away by high tides and rebuilt time after time - the ocean has washed away the sand for its winter season and I wanted to paint this form. This is always a reminder of the power of the ocean and how it creates beauty and can destroy, but after all the storms it still comes out beautiful.
